It is finally happening; Santa has come early to White Pine; we have broken ground for the installation of the new tanks and pump for gas to flow in Germania!!! Crews were on site yesterday, December 15 to start the process with the removal of old faithful (likely installed at about the same time Kim was born). Many have suggested it be saved as a testimony to our history. If all goes well, gas should be flowing in about 45 days.
This event is monumental and is a testament to the strength of community. We could not have achieved this without the steadfast support of our Germania family; full time and seasonal. We secured over 1500 signatures in support of this project. In addition, our local sportspersons association and business partners pledged their support.
We are indebted to our local and regional news outlets who highlighted our efforts that reached the eyes of our esteemed Governor; Josh Shapiro, who got the ball over the goalpost. Our elected trusted servants maintained keen interest in our progress and we thank them.
Mother nature seems to be celebrating with us as we have received early measurable snow that shows promise of continuing finally providing us with a winter wonderful to enjoy snowmobiling. That being the case, we look forward to our winter enthusiasts lining up to fuel up. An added feature will be the ability to fill us even when the store is closed. Technology is wonderful.
The American dream is alive and well in Germania. The love and support of our community coupled with faith in God and the process does in fact yield results. Thank you all from the depth of our being. We are proud to be a part of this awesome community sharing God's country with all who care to visit.
Happy Holidays.
